Isn’t the weather extremely hot? The weather is hot, and after suffering from pharyngitis for over a week and having to go to the hospital again for an injection, I feel like I’m finally getting a bit better. Everyone, please take care of your health. Today, I would like to introduce two places: a lovely cafe and a sushi restaurant.
I chose Donghaksa as a healing spot for the neighbourhood ladies' gathering. The name is Awesome 845 Café. I had been here with my family to eat dakgalbi, but I didn’t know there was a large café like this at the back.
Awesome means very cool. 845 comes from the fact that the peak of Cheonhwangbong on the nearby Gyeryong mountain is 845m high, hence the name. Just like its name, it's a café that shows a really wonderful view in harmony with nature.
The advantage of this cafe is that there is a lot of space from the basement to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors, and the large windows allow you to see the surrounding mountain scenery at a glance. The interior is also designed in various ways, and there is ondol (floor heating) in the basement, so you can turn on the boiler to stay warm on chilly days. The coffee and desserts are delicious. I had a cafe latte, croffle, and garlic bread, and they were tasty.
Above all, there is a shallow valley where you can dip your feet once you go underground. I think that would be quite an appeal for the ladies. The water is clear and shallow, and it's not dangerous. So, I guess the downside is that there are quite a lot of people on weekends. When it opened, there was plenty of parking space, but since the café is large, that parking space may be limited when it gets crowded. I plan to go with my parents-in-law during the holidays.
