What kind of book is the Gospel of John?
Today, we'll learn about the Apostle John, who wrote the Gospel of John. What do you think the Gospel of John is? It's clear that the Gospel of John isn't as easily read and understood as the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called Synoptic Gospels, meaning they were written from the same perspective. They cover the life and teachings of Jesus, and share many similarities in content and word choice. However, unlike the Synoptic Gospels, the Gospel of John deals with many spiritual aspects, so it is also called the spiritual gospel.
The Books Written by John
The Apostle John, a disciple of Jesus, wrote the Gospel of John, 1, 2, and 3 John, and the prophetic book of Revelation, the last book of the New Testament. The Apostle John witnessed and heard everything Jesus said and did in the four Gospels, as well as in the entire book of Revelation (Revelation 1-22).
The Book of Revelation
The Gospel of John records what Jesus did and said during his first coming, and it also contains prophecies of future events. Furthermore, the Book of Revelation records how Jesus, who bore the cross, died, was resurrected, and ascended to heaven. Around AD 95, Jesus appeared to the Apostle John, who was exiled on the island of Patmos because of God's word and his testimony. He revealed future events through prophetic visions.
The Book of Revelation is a book of salvation for believers who are waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus. It is a book of salvation that believers must know, understand, master, and keep.
What if we add to or subtract from the Book of Revelation?
Revelation 22:18-19 states that those who add to or subtract from the Book of Revelation will be denied entry into heaven and will be cursed and subject to disaster. Therefore, believers must understand and observe this Book of Revelation. Although the Book of Revelation was written 2,000 years ago, to this day, not a single person has understood the true meaning of its prophecies or the reality of their fulfillment.
This is because God sealed this book with seven seals and held it in His right hand to this day. However, Jesus said that prophecy is fulfilled in its proper time (John 16:25), and today, the proper time has come for Jesus to return and fulfill the New Testament Book of Revelation.
In the Book of Revelation, God took the sealed scroll, broke its seals, opened it, and fulfilled it. By doing so, the prophecies recorded therein were revealed. The revealed words, bearing witness to the reality, became light, illuminating a world dark and ignorant like night. Just as at the First Coming, those who believed in and followed the words of Jesus, who came as prophesied in the Old Testament, were saved, so today, those who believe in and follow the fulfilled words of the Book of Revelation in the New Testament will be saved and enter heaven.
Conditions for Entering Heaven
When this Revelation is fulfilled, Jesus selects one person to reveal and hear everything in the entire book of Revelation, and then sends them to the churches to testify to what they have seen and heard. All of us, the members of Shincheonji, have mastered the Book of Revelation by receiving the revealed word through the promised shepherd. We also believe in it, keep it, and practice it.
Believers who long for heaven must acknowledge the absence of a word about God and be reborn as God's seed, be harvested, be sealed, become members of the twelve tribes of Shincheonji, master the Book of Revelation, and enter heaven. I believe that only this is the true path to faith that God desires and desires.
