Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Daejeon held a lecture on the topic of birth, aging, illness, and death at its public relations center.
On the 18th, the Daejeon branch of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus held a meaningful seminar titled "Are Birth, Aging, Illness, and Death a Curse or a Blessing?" at the New Cielo PR Center in Yongmun-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. The seminar offered a fresh perspective on the fate of "birth, aging, illness, and death"—all experienced by all humans—from a biblical perspective, exploring the essence of life and the meaning of eternal life. Local pastors, citizens, and others attended the event, listening intently to Pastor Jang Bang-sik's lecture.
Pastor Jang Bang-sik said, "Birth, aging, illness, and death are human suffering and destiny, but at the same time, they are a journey that leads to the restoration of lost life." He added, "People return to dust, but if they are born again through the seed of God's Word, they gain incorruptible life." He quoted John 3:6, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit," emphasizing that the secret to eternal life lies within God's Word. He added, “Birth, aging, illness, and death are not the end, but the path to restoring the severed relationship with God, and in it, humans find true hope.”
This seminar was the first official lecture held at "New Cielo," a promotional center that opened in March, adding even more meaning and symbolism to the space. "New Cielo" means "new heaven" in Spanish. This experiential center allows citizens to directly experience and experience the Shincheonji Church of Jesus' faith system and the principles of its teachings. Inside, visitors can enjoy exhibitions on the church's history, video content, consultation and experience booths, and a café-style lounge, all open to the public.
A Daejeon church official stated, "This seminar provided citizens with a new understanding of the nature of birth, aging, illness, and death, and an opportunity to reflect on the direction of their faith. We will continue to expand communication with the local community, faith, and culture, focusing on New Cielo." Through this seminar, Shincheonji Daejeon Church demonstrated a transformation from a closed, doctrine-centered image to an open faith community that grapples with and grows alongside its citizens.
