Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gangdong Branch Provides Hair Salon Service at Songpa-gu Veterans Hall for Chuseok

On September 29, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gangdong Branch (Director: Lee Sang-hoon, hereafter referred to as the Gangdong Branch) visited the Songpa Veterans Center in Macheon-dong, Songpa-gu, to provide hairdressing and grooming services for senior veterans who dedicated their lives to the nation.

The event was organized to express gratitude and respect toward the veterans in celebration of the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

Since April of this year, the Gangdong Branch has been visiting the Songpa Veterans Center on the fourth Friday of every month to offer regular hairdressing services.

This month’s session was exceptionally held on a different day due to the Chuseok holiday schedule and the center’s arrangements.

A total of eight veterans, including members of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Korean Vietnam War Veterans Association, the Korean Agent Orange Veterans Association, and the Korean Military Merit Association (Songpa Branch), participated and received grooming services.

Based on its long-standing relationship with the Songpa Branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, the Gangdong Branch has expanded its volunteer activities to include members of other veterans’ organizations at the Songpa Veterans Center.
This expansion was made possible thanks to the strong recommendation and cooperation of Chairman Choi Eun-seok.

The connection between the two groups began about 11 years ago at the “Love for the Nation, Sharing Peace” event.
Since then, they have maintained a close and ongoing partnership through various activities such as lunchbox sharing, mural painting, and ceremonial assistance, moving beyond one-time volunteer efforts.

Chairman Choi, who visited the site that day, said,
“Among those who come to volunteer at the Veterans Center, the Gangdong Branch is the only group that provides hairdressing services. Their consistent dedication and effort make each visit more special and memorable.”

One veteran who received the haircut expressed his appreciation, saying,
“Getting my hair trimmed before the holiday makes me feel refreshed and happy. I’m truly thankful that they came to see us in person.”

Volunteer Kim Eun-soon said,
“I’m delighted to have brought back my long-unused skills today. It was an honor and a joy to personally provide hair care for the veterans who devoted themselves to our country.”

A representative from the Gangdong Branch stated,
“It was an honor to deliver warmth and gratitude to the veterans ahead of Chuseok. We will continue to visit regularly with sincerity and care.
