"10 years of sincerity, packed into a warm bowl of galbitang" | Mattiajipa Daejeon Filial Piety Feast
Good evening. I've brought you some heartwarming news that will melt even the cold winter's wind.
A moving performance filled with laughter and tears
Approximately 250 local seniors were invited to this event. The venue was filled with their bright laughter.
Laugh-Jumping Fun: The delightful skit "Three-Rang Couple" opened the event, melting the tension away for the seniors.
Tear-Changing Emotions: The "Letter Play," which tells the story of an elderly couple in their 60s, and the children's charming musical touched many hearts.
Energetic Music: From pansori sacheolga to janggu dance and Nongak (farmers' music)! The seniors even danced along to the rhythm, saying, "It brings back memories."
Galbitang, a hearty meal, and a simple "Thank you"
The highlight of the event was, of course, the hearty meal. We served a hearty meal of galbitang to recharge the elderly's energy during the cold winter.
"I'm often home alone, but when you call me and make me smile, I feel younger."
"It warms my heart and gives me strength. Thank you so much for your continued support over the past 10 years."
The volunteers' hearts were also warmed by the heartfelt words from the seniors on site.
Filial piety is the strength that sustains a community.
Mattiah Tribe President Jang Bang-sik expressed his gratitude, saying, "We will never forget the dedication and sacrifice of our elders that made today's Republic of Korea possible."
It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the fact that filial piety goes beyond mere traditional ethics and is a practice of neighborly love that bridges intergenerational respect and consideration. The Matthias Tribe Daejeon Church is a Shincheonji volunteer group that has served the community without fail for over a decade! Please continue to support their future endeavors.
